Kenneth Cole in deal talks with Iconix: report

BOSTON (MarketWatch) — Apparel designer and retailer Kenneth Cole Productions Inc. may be sold to Iconix Brand Group Inc. , which licenses such brands as Candie’s, London Fog and Badgley Mischka, according to a report Saturday on Bloomberg’s website, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter. The chairman and chief executive officer of Iconix is Neil Cole, who is Kenneth Cole’s brother. The timing and terms of any potential deal are unclear, according to the report. Shares of Kenneth Cole Productions rose almost 15% Friday to end at $16.59.
